Name of case - Pablo Ibar, Death Row Appeal Case - Miami, Florida, USA
Result of Challenge - The retrial for Pablo Ibar resulted in his removal from the death sentence. SRi Forensics were approached by one of the oldest and largest criminal defense law firm in Florida, Robbins, Tunkey, Ross, Amsel, Raben & Waxman, to give an expert facial comparison opinion in a high profile triple homicide appeal case. We were asked to assess and analyse old CCTV footage showing the brutal murder of a male and two females. Their client, Pablo Ibar was one of the alleged assailants.
Result - Following the hearing in 2019 in which SRi Forensics appeared again to give testimony to a US court in Florida, while not exonerated of the crime, Ibar is given a life sentence rather than death.
